Our Children, Their Future – Thriving Together

At the recent Community Services Committee, Councillors heard from just some of the young people who have been instrumental in helping to shape the way they learn and develop. Children from Colgrain Primary School gave a presentation about their involvement in helping to inform a revised education strategy and vision, along with young people from across ÓûÂþɬ.

Staff and children are celebrating at Apple Tree Nursery, Rothesay as they become the first nursery in ÓûÂþɬ, and only the third in Scotland, to receive a prestigious Gold from UNICEF UK’s Rights Respecting School programme.

Lorn Arc project extension

ÓûÂþɬ Council’s Tax Incremental Financing (TIF) Pilot Project for the Lorn Arc Area has been extended by 10 years, allowing additional time to implement key infrastructure and development investments that will help to create a significant economic boost to the wider Oban area.

If your child turns five between 1 March 2025 and 28 February 2026, you can register them for primary school during the week beginning Monday 13 January 2025.
