Community groups in ÓûÂþɬ could see their wishes and ideas come to life through the council’s Community Benefit Scheme.

Children in ÓûÂþɬ who were born between 1 March 2021 and 28 February 2022, can be registered for a funded Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) place the week beginning Monday 22 January 2024.

Community and voluntary groups can now apply to a new fund to help create new facilities or improve open spaces in their local area.

Children who turn five between 1 March 2024 and 28 February 2025 can be registered for primary school during the week beginning Monday 15 January 2024.

ÓûÂþɬ Council is coordinating a multi-agency response following a small quantity of light crude oil surfacing from an underground pipeline in the area local to Finnart Ocean Terminal, ÓûÂþɬ.

New figures just released show that 95.6% of 16-19 year olds in ÓûÂþɬ are currently in education, training or employment, an increase of 1.7% on 2022 and 1.3% above the national figure of 94.3%.

Dunoon Primary School has become the latest school in ÓûÂþɬ to receive a gold award in UNICEF UK’s Rights Respecting School Programme.
